Why am I being molested by these street-urchins?
Hey, I'm official! I'm standing here in Lab2 of the TechFutures main campus, and wow....do my ankles hurt.
This will be a two part post, part two will be written at home while part one will be written here.
Part one will be more random ramblings while part two will be a photopost.
Part one:
God damnit, my ankles hurt. Why am I using this computer way the hell over here standing up? This is bad for my ankles...or is it? I don't know...It kind of sucks.
AND IT'S HOT AS HELL IN HERE!!!
Damnit...
It's too hot to blog right now, I think this is a good end for part one.
Part two:
Yeah look at that studly neck. Ugh. *vomits*
So, where have I been the last couple days you might be wondering. I've been here mostly, but not exactly here the whole time. On Sunday we went to Sonoma to have dinner with Angela.
Hey look a vinyard, as far as the eye can see.
Makes me want to go see Sideways.
Wine is popular up there.
I got what I always get at fancy restruants.
A plane hamburger and fries. But damned if that wasn't a tasty burger. Put anything at Big Kahuna Burger to shame.
No coach Carter, please don't lay your vengance upon me!
And I had caramel ice cream with a chocolate truffle...not bad indeed.
And that was basically it for that trip. So what happened next? That's only Sunday, what about Monday? You had Monday off too, didn't you?
Yes. It's true.
We went for a strole at the Berkeley Marina!
Back in the days before they had a Golden Gate or Bay Bridge, they had to get across that body of water somehow. How did they do that, you might ask? Well, I'll tell you. They had a ferry boat at the end of a long peir that you could drive your car on and cross with. After the bridge, this wasn't really a good idea anymore, and the service was discontinued. And all but 3000 feet of the 2.5 mile peir has pretty much disintegrated. You can still see most of it in that picture though.
Looks like they're trying to get a ferry to come back to the Berkeley Marina. That'd be interesting.
Really interesting.
Of the 3000 feet still in use, usually by fishermen who are too poor to own a boat, we walked out on all 3000 of them. Was it windy though.
There's mom and Irene, you can see Dad in the background.
Oh yes, that was the worst part. Dad's MLK day job was aparently not happening, so he was home early, and unfortuneatly came along. This whole job issue really had his panties in a bunch, and on top of that it appeared he was on his period.
Totally PMSing.
After that, we went to 4th street in Berkeley to pretend to be yuppies for a little while. God damn there are a lot of yuppies down there. We drank at Peet's coffee. Dad got a newspaper with a classifieds section and looked for jobs while mom and Irene went into some kind of beauty parlor...
I didn't take many images at 4th Street, but I did get a few.
Quite a few pretty girls down there...all stuck up looking though.
And here we are. Uh. Yeah. I think I'm done for the night. I'm feeling really sleepy. I've gotta be the only person I know who drinks coffee and gets tired.
I'm seriously considering buying one of these things...Damn money. I might still fall back on the Shuttle PC though.

Here's how it looked in 1939!
Which is really interesting to me. Cause, that whole dock area there, is all a giant landfill now. In the 50s, 60s, 70s, and maybe the 80s, the Berkeley Marina was actually the Berkeley Dump. And now, it's a park. Go figure. It's amazing just how much landfill there is in the bay area.
