But then again, maybe that's why I found the place s'durned innarestin'.

Very very soon, this little blogger experiment of mine will reach 1000 hits.

I'm so proud of it.

And in lieu of that, I give you something special. No pictures or clever links. Just something special.

INT. YALE UNIVERSITY DORM ROOM - NIGHT

It's dark, and a squeaking sound is heard, there is a HAMSTER there.

HAMSTER
(in hamster speak)
Be quiet you Billionaire Playboy!

あんた馬鹿?

Yes, I am very very 馬鹿. Damnit. Today I was supposed to have a performance evaluation with Diane. And I totally forgot about it.

God damnit.

I need some kind of brain explosive that I can swallow and it blows up, then I might not have to worry about forgetting crap like this 'cause I'll be dead.

Moving on...

So what were you doing instead of your interview there, chet? Well I wasn't working on the YDP website, that's for sure. I wasn't sick. I wasn't on the moon. I was in lovely San Francisco.

Dad and I went to the beach.
There was some impressive surf.

Look at the person there for a sense of scale.

There's dad. Boy it was foamy.

Want a seat?

We eventually got tired of the beach, and went to a diner, and I had a snack. I've had better.

Then we decided to go to the Metreon and check out the James Cameron 3d IMAX movie, Aliens of the Deep. Which was pretty cool. My dad cant stop raving about how scared he was when he thought the Elephant was grabbing his nuts. You'd have to see it to understand.

But on the way, we came across some things.

We passed the Alexandria theater, where I saw Kill Bill, Vol. 1 with Isabel. It was boarded up. Aparently out of buisness. That's sad. Then we passed the Coronet theater, I gotta remember to see a movie there some day.

Then we passed some church.

I seem to remember Isabel saying something about this church, but I can't remember what it is. Maybe she'll tell us.

We passed the O'Farrel Theater. You remember don't you?

Should be clicking with you if you're a regular reader of my blog.

Does that help? See what it says there?

Yes, that's right. The Mitchell brothers.

Can you imagine killing your brother? No I can't 'cause I don't have a brother.

So then we get to the Metreon, and dad wants some calimari or something so we go to this place called Jillians which is inside the metreon. Here's their bar.

Techno savy.

Dad gave this mural a thumbs up.

Doesn't he look happy?

Instead of calamari he got Smelt. Some sort of nostalgic comfort food for him.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

I think this guy has Parkinson's Disease.

Hey look it's the SFMOMA!

Whoo! This is one of the current exhibits.

Dad had to go to another bar after he saw that he could get a deal cause it was happy hour.

So we go to the movie. It's pretty cool. Something really weird about seeing an elephant grab at your crotch with his trunk.

Oooh SFMOMA at night!

We make it back to the car.

And we come home. Not much more to it then that. I still feel pretty bad about missing my apointment. Meh.

Last night a movie was on that had a bit of history for me. Beloved was on. In 12th grade I had to read Beloved, or should I say I chose to read Beloved, and the film helped me get through the book. It was kind of a translator for Toni Morrison's cryptic writing. When I first started reading it, I wasn't sure what to make of it. But reading a chaptor then watching that part of the movie really made it clear for me what was going on. Really cool. And the movie is cool, too. Well made. And I Love the music. Rachel Portman really did a good job. Mongoose, next time you need to make a spooky Halloween CD, I should give you some tracks from there. Spooky stuff. Coool stuff.

And of course this was when I was deep in my worldOne drive. Deep into the world music and stuff. So it was right up my alley. So yeah. It was cool. Here's the song that had me remember to write about all this:

Rachel Portman - You Your Best Thing
Whoo.

I think it's about time for me to go to bed. Almost 3 in the morning. Finally I appear to be back on schedule, even if that is a bad thing...

But why is the rum gone?

Two posts in two nights? Holy shit!

I'd like to do some plugging, if I might.

Let's see...where to start.

Google's got a nifty new feature.

Apple's Mac Mini has some reduced prices for upgrades.

Bill Gates Fucks Up.

Yeah. He's a sexy man, isn't he?

That google video search looks nifty, and will be even more nifty when you'll actually be able to watch the video after searching for it.

Now if only the television networks would actually give us news instead of entertainment. It's cool that it gets stuff from KRON though, which is a special network to me, even if they do employ Jan Wahl, a woman who said that Catwoman was a great movie.

Fuck you and your hats, bitch.

But yeah, Go Kron. Way to stick it to the man.

Hmm. Seem to have hit a stop.

I know, I'll cover my Sunday.

On Sunday...Mostly I didn't do too much 'till later on. Isabel had her birthday movie thing! Whoo!

Gotta get your candy before the movie. 2 boxes for 2 dollars, may be expensive but still cheaper than buying in the theater.

Walking around pre-show. We were early.

Inside the theater. This spiky haired asian dude sat right in front of me and sat up straight throughout the whole fucking movie. Damnit. I hate when people do that.

Also, there was a funny incedent involving an 8 ounce can of generic cola. I had it, i dropped it, and it sprayed open all over my face and stuff. I wish I could have seen it happen, i bet it would have been hilarious. but then it made the theater floor all sticky. that sucked, cause then I was afraid to move my feet the whole movie.

I was pissed about all that too. But the movie was pretty good. Certainly not bad for a dub, you know? The crappiness of the dub can be forgiven because things are just that much better on a big screen. It was also cool to see a trailer for The Big Lebowski which is the midnight movie. And even with all the warnings I've heard about the midnight movie, I'm seriously considering it. If I have a companion that is. Nudge nudge, Isabel.

Ah, and anything else? Nah I think I'm done. Woah, before 11 too. Isn't that weird?

Just a pasture animal waiting for the abattoir.

And no I'm not drinking any fucking merlot.

Yes. That's why.

Just got back from seeing Sideways and I must say that was a wonderful little film. Go see it.

Other than that, my day hasn't been all that eventful. I probably should have went into work today to help Kevin Tse use 3dsMax. I think Kevin can take care of himself. This is the last week of my vacation.

Yeah. I don't need to do her any favors. (While looking for this picture, I found this picture, and it still amazes me.) Moving on. Hey there's Mr. Holland!

I had a meeting with Mr. Holland last thursday about the YDP. (look for updates in like a week or two) and I finally got some stuff to work on for that! Now I just gotta find the papers I lost about it...Fuck man. I'm no web designer. But it's good news, right? Of course it is! Oooh! I'm getting creative as we speak! Thank you iTunes! I don't care if it's ruining my computer as we speak, if it helps me get great ideas like this I can't complain!

Notes to self: Create flash navbar for YDP site...Fix stylesheet...

So what else have I been up to? Hmm. Seems like a lot of people were born this week. Isabel, Daffy, Irene, Aqua...Just like, everyone! Oh and my mom's friend Peggy! I went to her birthday party in the city on Saturday.
Oh my god iTunes is on a roll tonight!
And so, I took pictures. You want to see?

Hey look, the eastern span of the Bay Bridge!

Great picture, isn't it? It's of the cranes that are supposed to be rebuilding that part of the bridge, but currently aren't, thank's to our Governor Schwarzenegger.

Okay Ed, chill out. Sorry about that.

San Francisco Skyline with the bay bridge cables.

Homeless woman.

Homeless woman getting hit by car.

That's terrible! Okay so it's a lie. She wasn't hit. Don't worry.

Look! It's that Big Phallic building! Damnit. I never thought of that building as phalic before, thanks a lot Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Damn, San Francisco is so gay positive.

So is my dad.

Hey look, we're getting closer to my dad's past. Ooo tangent time!

Back in the 1970s, my dad had just moved out to San Francisco. Who else was in San Francisco at this time? The Mitchell Brothers.

From Wikipedia:
The Mitchell brothers (James "Jim" Lowell Mitchell, born November 30, 1943, and Artie Jay Mitchell, December 12, 1945–February 27, 1991) were active in the pornography and strip club business in San Francisco in the 1970s and 1980s. They owned the O'Farrell Theatre, a well-known porn movie theater and strip club. Writer and journalist Hunter S. Thompson was a friend of the brothers and a frequent visitor of the club; at one time he was even being paid as the club's "night manager". In 1972 the Mitchell brothers produced one of the first successful feature length pornographic movies, Behind the Green Door. In 1991, Jim drove to the house of Artie and killed him; the motive remained unclear. He was sentenced to six years in prison for voluntary manslaughter and served three years.

Emilio Estevez directed a film for Showtime a couple years ago about the brothers and this is where I first learned of them. I was watching it one night and dad told me he knew these guys. I wondered how, but I wasn't surprised. My dad claimed he knew anyone from the bay area. He said he sat next to Robin Williams at a bar once, back when I was a big Mork fan. So yeah. But then I asked where. And he told me he was in a couple of their movies. I know.

He said that he once got it on with Marilyn Chambers and one of the Mitchell brothers had hid a camera in there, and got footage of all this. Then they sold it without dad's permission. Yeah. I know. Those fucking assholes. He said he quit the buisness because he couldn't cum on camera. Or on cue. Or whatever. I don't blame him. That stuff can't be too easy.

Now, all of this, I didn't really believe it. I mean, I didn't think he was lying but, I still couldn't say I believed him. But it intrested me. Then a trip along to the IMDB produced this:

Tom Kloud

IMDbPro Professional Details

Actor - filmography

Behind the Green Door (1972) .... Male Attendant

So there was the proof. Now I can't watch that movie. And then my mom says that Boogie Nights is the story of my dad's life. So I can't watch that movie either, thanks mom.

My friend saw Behind the Green Door, said it was weak. Didn't see my dad. Good, don't need to watch it now.

Also there's a documentary on Deep Throat that I saw a trailer for with Isabel last night when we went to see Sky Blue. But we'll get to that later.

Big enough tangent? Good. Back to the picture show.

Pretty skyline.

Cloud nine. Dad's nickname is Kloud. (Hense the Tom Kloud pseudonym) So I took a picture.

More big pointy building.

This could be a post card.

Cable Car!
Every one of them, tourists.

Peggy's daughter Heather. Interesting girl.

There I am with my mom in the background.

It was cool to be listening to someone talking, and then see a cable car drive by behind them. That was that resturant's best asset, because it certainly wasn't the food.

Bernard (Heather's Dad), Peggy's boyfriend...and some other people i dunno. Heating lamp!

My bad, I put the images togeaether wrong....

there we go.

And that's it for the pictures for now. Next time I'll show the one or two pictures from last night. And tell that story. But, I think I'm done for the evening. Goodnight.

Oh P.S. Right now I'm watching a John Ritter movie. I know. I'm scared too.

Holy Shatner...
(John Ritter character on the right)

Woah, it's only 10. I'm done early tonight.
