If they can dye this river green today, why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days of the year?

Alright! Super chool dudes!

Things to do this week:
  • Write the damn meterology paper on ball lightning.
  • Write the damn film analysis paper of which movie? No idea.
  • Observe dad and his media use for the BECA paper.
  • Come up with questions to ask him about said media use.
  • Write the damn BECA paper.
  • Go to Blackboard and find the biology assignment due on the day of the final.
  • Write the damn biology assignment due on the day of the final.
  • Go to The Class Schedule and figure out schedule for next semester.

Woah, I'm actually getting things done. Who'dve figured? I still have two papers and a biology worksheet to fill out, however. That's not going to be fun.

The thing I'm working on finishing next is my Cinema Essay, which is only worth 40% of my grade...

I know, Chiyo-chan. Things aren't looking good. But I'll finish! By jove, I will finish!

So. What is the thing I'm working on? Oh yes, David F'n Lynch.

The prompt I've chosen:
1) Contemporary cinema offers many examples of unusual screen narratives. While movies like The Usual Suspects (with its flashback structure and twist ending), Run Lola Run (with its multiple options for its characters, and The Circle (with its series of protagonists) can be easily followed, David Lynch films like Lost Highway and Mullholland Drive are too confusing to enjoy.

Good lord. Well. I didn't find any of the movies played for us that confusing. I think any movie can make sense to you, just so long as you pay attention. But the problem with Lynch's films is that they try to hard to be artistic. They stretch things to the point of being rediculous. Like, did we really need to see that lesbian love action at the end? The answer is no, of course.

Did we really need to have a two parts of the movie that have nothing to do with each other? The answer is, once again, no. Movies do not need to be artistic at the expense of the audience. UGH!

And why did they need that whole subplot about the blonde chick becoming an actress? Garbage!

And totally uninteresting lookers too.

Oh well. I've had enough with this film maker.

Lets see if I can get through this. Meterology class at 6:10. I suspect to see ya'll around then.
