DUDE! The RIAA! They suck! Read this.
During the summer a study by Harvard Business School associate professor Felix Oberholzer and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill associate professor Koleman Strumpf said it take at least 5,000 downloads to displace sales of one CD. Even high levels of file-swapping affected album sales to a degree that was "statistically indistinguishable from zero," they wrote.
DUDE! Those bastards sued all those people...and why? FOR LESS THAN ONCE CENT's DAMMAGE!
And!
Also last week, the US Senate dropped from an intellectual property bill several controversial measures that would have made the actions of millions of US internet users who copy music and movies for free over networks such as Kazaa criminal offences.
Among the sanctions under consideration were jail sentences of up to three years for American music lovers found to have illegally downloaded more than 1,000 copyrighted works.
What what what??! That's f'n bullshit! Thank god the senate is smart enough not to pass such a bill...
Moving on.
I'm in the SFSU library at the moment. Whoo to that. Should probably be doing school work of some kind but...whatcha gonna do...
So, what was I talking about?
*half an hour goes by*
Oh yeah. Umm. Hmm. I can't remember. Was I even talking about anything? Hmm. Well. I guess this post is done then. Someone, anyone, help me figure out how to put a "now playing, watching, eating, what have you" thing at the start of my blog posts...so that it's all cool and stuff.
